HBCUvc receives $200K impact grant from The Propel Center
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — January 7, 2022 — As a part of its Propel Impact Grant program, The Propel Center has selected 15 recipients, including HBCUvc, to each receive $200,000 to advance equitable education opportunities for historically Black college and university (HBCU) communities.
The Propel Center, which launched in January 2021 through a partnership with Apple and Southern Company, is a physical and virtual global leadership and innovation hub that promotes equity in education for HBCUs. A total of $3 million was awarded in Propel’s first round of grant funding toward institutions with an agri-tech and arts and entertainment-centered mission. HBCUvc is joined in the inaugural class of grant awardees by Jackson State University, Morehouse School of Medicine, University of the District of Columbia, the Southern University Law Center, and others.
